The deadline to apply for a student loan is six weeks prior to the last day of classes for the study period of which you are applying for assistance. However,if you need your student loan money in time for the first day of class, you will need to apply at least six weeks before school starts. You do not have to be accepted into your program of study before applying for full-time student assistance. Part-time students must be registered in their desired classes prior to applying for funding. Funds will not be disbursed until you have processed your loan documents (Master Student Financial Assistance Agreement or Certificate of Eligibility), had your enrollment confirmed (this occurs automatically), and begun the study period.
It's okay to apply for funding after classes start, provided you have enough money to pay your fees
by the payment deadline
and can manage until your student loan funds arrive.
