The bulb in the overhead projector I am using burned out - how do I get help?
Question:

The bulb in the overhead projector I am using burned out or the equipment needs repair and I am teaching right away. How do I get help?
Answer:

If you need immediate help, call the IT Services Helpdesk at extension 4444.  Staff are on hand to respond to such calls between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. (8.00 am to 4.00 pm during summer hours).

- on the Kelowna Campus spare bulbs are stored in the AV Drop (C280) or the edtech centre
- in Penticton go to the Sunoka Building Staff Room
- in Vernon or Salmon Arm, check with Library staff

Some overhead projectors have a spare bulb inside the projector unit.   If so, there will be a lever to switch over to the second bulb.

To insert a new bulb, be sure the projector is turned off before opening the casement.  Pull out the old bulb.  Check to make sure the model number of the new bulb matches.  To avoid touching the bulb filament, remove the new bulb with surrounding foam piece from the box and position into place.  Close the casement and turn on.
